A Solution for Better Space Utilization
Coca Cola Distribution Center, Londonderry, NH
When Coca-Cola of Northern New England (CCNNE) consolidated two of its distribution centers into a single location, maximizing space was essential to a seamless transition and efficient operations going forward. The existing Londonderry, NH, facility had plenty of vertical space that was not being utilized and Bode Equipment was called in to make an assessment and recommendations on how to make the best use of it.
The Bode design team suggested the installation of a mezzanine storage system to capitalize on the available vertical space. A quicker and more cost effective solution than constructing an addition to the facility, the mezzanine easily accommodate the additional staff and product volume of the consolidated operations.
Bode provided all design and installation of the new mezzanine storage and assembly area. Because of the high volume of varied products and pallet sizes, nearly all of the rack installations for CCNNE required customization. To maximize cost savings Bode moved, reinstalled and modified where necessary the existing racking and equipment from the closing facility. Included in the installation was a new
modular office system which provided plant supervisors with privacy and soundproofing for meetings and phone calls while still providing visibility of the facility's operations.
"From design and fabrication to installation, Bode provided everything we needed to make this transition a success," adds Coke. "I know that when it comes to quality service, quick response and attention to detail I can always count on Bode."
